Chlorine and Accessories

Most septic systems utilize chlorine to help kill any harmful bacteria that may be present in your wastewater. There are two main types of systems used to introduce chlorine into your septic system. Those two are (Tablet Based) and (Liquid Based)

Tablet Based systems usually have a pipe that is accessible from outside the septic tank that you drop chlorine tablets in. These systems require you to place tablets in the proper receptacle anywhere from once a week to every few months. It is important to note that you must buy septic chlorine because pool chlorine will not work.

Liquid Based systems utilize regular household bleach. This system is more expensive but has many advantages.1^st A liquid system runs on household bleach witch is cheaper and more available. 2^nd the reservoir on a Liquid Based system is often much larger requiring less refills.
